Graphic Design Trainee

This position is for a highly motivated self-starter who is solutions-oriented and can work in a fast-paced creative environment. Bonus if you’re interested in and/or passionate about both Fortune 500 tech companies as well as tech start-ups. The Graphic Design Trainee plays an important support role to the Creative Directors and Art Directors to produce inventive, thoughtful, on-brand work for MKTG’s premiere client roster across an array of media including print, digital, fabrication, environmental, out of home and more.

The Graphic Design Trainee should be a true team player looking to be immersed in a non-typical work environment and become part of a vibrant culture of nice people that know how to work hard and have FUN. No two days are alike in our office, so being flexible in supporting evolving programs will be key to success in this role.

During his/her time with MKTG, the Graphic Design Trainee will learn about experiential marketing, designing of sales and marketing materials, print coordination and production, project and time management skills, team management and internal communications skills, and how MKTG and our clients work and do business together.


  • Direct support for members of the Creative Services team on multiple programs
  • Organizational, Tactical, and Communication Skills: Takes accountability for actions; Demonstrates organizational skills; Meets deadlines
  • Design: Create print collateral and digital/web layouts and graphics according to various brand guidelines
  • Actively participate in brainstorming and critique sessions
  • Create comps, wireframes and concept illustrations
  • Conduct project-based research
  • Create layouts/graphics for Keynote and PowerPoint presentations
  • Iterate and develop brand identity systems as well as environmental/experience designs
  • Actively support the Agency on various project and administrative tasks
  • Creating a variety of print and digital design deliverables
  • Designing with client brand guidelines in mind
  • Maintaining brand integrity across multiple platforms
  • Working in collaboration with various agency teams
  • Adhering to deadlines and completing projects in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and organizing electronic files
  • Additional duties as needed

  • Proficient Adobe CS skills (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Motion graphic skills are a plus, as are 3D rendering tools, such as SketchUp or Vectorworks
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable with changing deadlines and assignments
  • Must present online portfolio of work that demonstrates a versatile and strong design aesthetic
  • Excellent organization and communication skills (writing, speaking, listening and expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Doc software)
  • Exude enthusiasm, confidence and passion in the work we do
